Sound Tests

DISCLAIMER: Sound tests should not be used as an absolute reference of what a board will sound like. There are many factors that could change how your own board sounds. These tests are only meant to give you a general idea of what this board may sound like.

FAQs

Does this board need special care?

Wood is a living material, unlike aluminum or plastic, so some special care must be taken into account. Do not leave your board in a place that gets very hot or cold, as it can cause warping. For example, do not leave this board right next to sources of heat for extended periods of time.

When will this arrive?

How fragile is this board compared to aluminum?

Wood is a fibrous material, with non uniform density throughout. As such, it is more fragile than aluminum, specifically in areas of small detail, such as the arrow key cluster. This should not be an issue for normal typing, gaming, or general computer usage. However, dropping this board from a large height, or slamming hands against it in anger may compromise the structural integrity of smaller features and cause breakage.

What are some of the features of this board?

The KL-90 offers a left side macro row and layout support such as ANSI, split space, stepped caps lock, etc.

How is the board mounted/ held together?

The board is separated into a top and bottom half, fastened with machine screws from underneath. The plate/PCB unit sits on rubber gaskets inside the top and bottom sandwich. This also combats wood warping, as the top and bottom are constantly held together over a solid substrate, unlike typical wooden tray mount boards.
